BACKGROUND: Over the past 15 years Israeli public opinion in favor of dividing Jerusalem has increased from only 15% to 50%! These staggering numbers are a direct result of media distortions, myths, inaccuracies and propaganda as well as local and international pressure.
The public has been misinformed and misguided and very little has been done about it.
Current negotiations are going on with the division of Jerusalem as one of the core issues. Most Jews, both in and out of Israel suffer from gross ignorance on this issue which could irrevocably affect the State of Israel and Jews worldwide in the NEAR FUTURE.
Most Israeli high school kids have never visited Jerusalem. Israeli adults almost never come to the Capital and the informational input they receive if they do come, and in the mainstream media, tends toward giving up on eastern Jerusalem including most of the Old City and the strategic areas surrounding it.
GOAL: To raise awareness of Jews, Gentiles, politicians, journalists, and decision makers as to the inherent rights of the Jewish people and the State of Israel to a United Jerusalem under Israeli Sovereignty. We also highlight the clear benefits of the Muslim Arab residents and Christians of a united Jerusalem living in a democratic society with freedom of religion, speech and vote.
A well informed and educated public will result in a shift of public opinion in favor of
a United Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty.
Keep Jerusalem – Im Eshkachech is a project of major national importance and urgency. The wellbeing and very future of the State of Israel and the Jewish people is irrevocably connected to Jerusalem remaining united under Israeli sovereignty. www.keepjerusalem.org
