Young Israel of Aventura is excited to announce our new Rabbi, Chaim Albert who, with his wife Leah, will be welcomed at Shabbos February 18. Over the past ten years, Rabbi Chaim Albert has enlightened thousands with his Torah and unique life perspective. Rabbi Albert shares his thought provoking ideas with a passionate style that inspires audiences of all types. His hallmark has become his unique ability to demonstrate the relevance of classic Torah insights to daily life. His background in therapy, education, and outreach give him a very unique perspective.

Rabbi Albert has received a Bachelor’s in Talmudic Law from Yeshivat Shaalvim, Rabbinical Ordination from the Talmudic University, and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University. Rabbi Albert founded the Foundation for Jewish Learning, which became a successful social network for thousands of young Jewish Professionals. He currently serves at the Samuel Scheck Hillel Community Day School. Rabbi Albert anticipates becoming licensed for Marriage and Family Therapy in Florida in the immediate future.

Rebbetzin Leah Albert speaks several languages and has been devoted to outreach over the past ten years hosting thousand of Jews from every background in her home for Shabbat meals and hospitality. She currently teaches at the Yeshiva Elementary School in Miami Beach. Ahron Shlomo age 11 is a budding young chazan, and Ilana Miraim, almost 10, is a talented dancer.

BACKGROUND: Over the past 15 years Israeli public opinion in favor of dividing Jerusalem has increased from only 15% to 50%! These staggering numbers are a direct result of media distortions, myths, inaccuracies and propaganda as well as local and international pressure.

The public has been misinformed and misguided and very little has been done about it.

Current negotiations are going on with the division of Jerusalem as one of the core issues. Most Jews, both in and out of Israel suffer from gross ignorance on this issue which could irrevocably affect the State of Israel and Jews worldwide in the NEAR FUTURE.

Most Israeli high school kids have never visited Jerusalem. Israeli adults almost never come to the Capital and the informational input they receive if they do come, and in the mainstream media, tends toward giving up on eastern Jerusalem including most of the Old City and the strategic areas surrounding it.

GOAL: To raise awareness of Jews, Gentiles, politicians, journalists, and decision makers as to the inherent rights of the Jewish people and the State of Israel to a United Jerusalem under Israeli Sovereignty. We also highlight the clear benefits of the Muslim Arab residents and Christians of a united Jerusalem living in a democratic society with freedom of religion, speech and vote.

A well informed and educated public will result in a shift of public opinion in favor of

a United Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty.

Shabbat Kedoshim- Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum

We have the honor of having Rav Moshe Teitelbaum give the dvar Torah for this week's parashat Kedoshim. We hope everyone can attend and take part in a deluxe kiddush afterwards!

Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum – Administrative Menahel in Beit Shemesh, Israel is a graduate of the Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim. His parents made aliyah from South America in order to be able to give their children a classic Torah education in eretz yisroel. A few years ago Rabbi Teitelbaum joined the IDF in order to volunteer his skills in chinuch and general education. During his service he was an educator, commander and he acquired knowledge and skill in education as well and in administration. He is the head of Hatzalah Beit Shemesh and is a paramedic for Magen Dovid Adom. Rabbi Teitelbaum serves as Yeshivas Zichron Dovid's Financial and Administrative Menahel in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel.
